Fiction novels are prominent in getting readers to think. By using both Direct and Indirect Characterization, Fiction novels use the readers thought process to develop thoughts and feelings towards specific characters. In Shakespeare's play Hamlet, Shakespeare allows the reader to understand Hamlets mental struggles and current situation. By doing this, the reader is given the ability to try to understand what these actions are doing to Hamlet and make an assumption on how they will affect him later on in the story.
